Submission Policy
1. General Principles
The Journal of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (JHRS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal committed to publishing high-quality research, reviews, case studies, and scholarly contributions in the fields of health sciences, rehabilitation, special education, psychology, public health, social medicine, and related disciplines.
All submissions must represent original scholarly work that contributes to the advancement of scientific knowledge and professional practice. Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their scientific merit, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the scope of the journal.
2. Originality and Prior Publication
Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not have been previously published, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere in any language.
Authors are required to confirm that:
- The manuscript is their original work.
- The manuscript has not been published previously.
- The manuscript is not simultaneously submitted to another journal.
- All sources have been properly cited and acknowledged.
- Any use of copyrighted material has received the necessary permissions.
The journal employs plagiarism detection software and reserves the right to reject any submission that contains plagiarism, duplicate publication, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, or other forms of publication misconduct.
3. Scope and Scientific Quality
Submissions must fall within the aims and scope of JHRS and demonstrate:
- Scientific relevance and originality;
- Appropriate research design and methodology;
- Clear presentation of results;
- Critical discussion and interpretation of findings;
- Compliance with reporting standards applicable to the study design.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to decline manuscripts that do not meet the journal's scientific, ethical, or technical standards before peer review.
4. Authorship Requirements
All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, interpretation, or writing of the study.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that:
- All eligible contributors are included as authors;
- All authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript;
- All authors agree to its submission and potential publication.
Guest authorship, honorary authorship, and ghost authorship are considered unethical and are not permitted.
5. Ethical Approval and Informed Consent
Research involving human participants, human data, human tissue, or animals must comply with internationally recognized ethical standards.
Authors must provide:
- The name of the approving ethics committee or institutional review board;
- Approval number where applicable;
- A statement regarding informed consent when required.
The journal follows the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and recognized international research ethics guidelines.
6. Conflict of Interest and Funding Disclosure
Authors must disclose:
- Any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest;
- Sources of funding;
- Institutional or commercial relationships that may influence the research.
If no conflicts exist, authors should state:
"The authors declare no conflict of interest."
7. Peer Review Process
All eligible manuscripts undergo editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer-review process.
The editorial process may result in one of the following decisions:
- Accept Submission;
- Minor Revisions;
- Major Revisions;
- Resubmit for Review;
- Reject Submission.
The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board reserve the right to make the final publication decision.
8. Revision Policy
Authors receiving revision requests must submit:
- A revised manuscript with tracked or highlighted changes where requested;
- A detailed Response Letter to Reviewers explaining how each comment was addressed.
Failure to adequately address reviewer comments may result in rejection.
9. Language and Technical Requirements
Manuscripts must be submitted in clear and grammatically correct English. Authors are responsible for ensuring professional language quality before submission. The Editorial Office may request language editing prior to peer review or acceptance.
10. Article Length
Authors are encouraged to adhere to the journal's recommended manuscript length. The standard maximum length is: 30,000 characters (excluding spaces). Manuscripts substantially exceeding this limit may be subject to additional publication charges or may be returned to authors for shortening prior to publication.
11. Publication Charges
JHRS in principal don’t ask for APC, but the journal may apply publication or processing charges in accordance with its current pricing policy. Authors will be informed of any applicable charges during the editorial process and prior to final publication.
12. Diversity of Authorship and Consecutive Publications
To promote diversity, inclusiveness, and broad international representation, JHRS seeks to provide publication opportunities to a wide range of researchers, institutions, and countries. As a general editorial policy, the journal does not normally consider peer review manuscripts in which any author has already published in the immediately preceding issue of the journal. This policy applies to all authors listed on the manuscript, including first authors, corresponding authors, and co-authors. Authors affected by this policy are encouraged to submit their work to subsequent issues, where their manuscripts will be considered under the standard editorial and peer-review procedures. The purpose of this policy is to ensure equitable access to publication opportunities and maintain a balanced representation of authorship across issues.
13. Open Access Policy
JHRS is committed to the principles of open scientific communication and provides immediate open access to its published content. Readers may access, download, read, and cite published articles without subscription barriers, subject to the applicable licensing conditions.
14. Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently and are based solely on scholarly merit, scientific quality, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's scope. Neither financial considerations nor institutional affiliations influence editorial decisions.
15. Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern
The journal follows international publication ethics standards regarding corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern. If significant errors, misconduct, or ethical breaches are identified after publication, the Editorial Board may issue corrections, retractions, or other appropriate notices.
16. Final Decision
Submission of a manuscript to JHRS constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of all journal policies, ethical standards, editorial procedures, and publication requirements. The Editor-in-Chief retains the final authority regarding all editorial and publication decisions.
