The Journal of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (JHRS) is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, scholarly, international electronic journal published by Alma Mater Europaea University – ECM, Slovenia, in collaboration with the Macedonian Scientific Society for Autism, Macedonia.

JHRS provides an interdisciplinary platform for the dissemination and exchange of high-quality scientific knowledge and professional experience in the fields of health and rehabilitation sciences and related disciplines. The journal seeks to promote scientific dialogue and collaboration among researchers, academics, clinicians, educators, and other professionals, while contributing to the advancement of evidence-based practice and research.

Particular attention is given to research addressing health and rehabilitation, disability, developmental diversity, inclusion, and the physical, psychological, educational, social, and functional dimensions of human development and participation. Through the dissemination of rigorous and relevant research, JHRS aims to contribute to greater awareness of health and rehabilitation needs and to the development of effective practices, policies, and services for people with disabilities and developmental diversities.

The journal is committed to maintaining high standards of scholarly and editorial quality and welcomes contributions from research and academic institutions worldwide. JHRS aims to facilitate knowledge exchange across disciplinary boundaries and to strengthen international scientific collaboration in the broad field of health, rehabilitation, and developmental diversity.

Dear Colleagues,

The Journal of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (JHRS) invites researchers, academics, clinicians, and other professionals to submit manuscripts for consideration for publication in Volume 5, Issue 1 (2026).

JHRS is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, scholarly, international electronic journal dedicated to the dissemination of original scientific research and scholarly contributions in health and rehabilitation sciences and related fields.

The journal considers the following types of contributions:

• Original research articles
• Review articles
• Short reports
• Letters to the Editor
• Clinical experiences
• Case reports and case series
• Doctoral and master's research
• Editorials
• Rapid communications
• Methodological and theoretical contributions
• Other scholarly contributions relevant to the scope of the journal

JHRS welcomes submissions covering a broad range of disciplines, including health sciences, rehabilitation sciences, developmental diversity, special education, psychology, social policy, medicine, genetics, biology, psychiatry, education, sociology, and related fields.

The journal is devoted to the scientific study of health conditions, disability, rehabilitation, and developmental diversity. Its scope encompasses, but is not limited to, research on the prevention, assessment, treatment, management, and rehabilitation of health conditions and disabilities, as well as psychological, biological, educational, genetic, medical, psychiatric, sociological, ethical, philosophical, and legal perspectives that contribute to scientific knowledge and inform professional practice and public policy.

All submitted manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review and are normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers. The editorial and peer-review process is conducted in accordance with the journal's established editorial policies and ethical standards. Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the JHRS Author Guidelines.

JHRS is an Open Access journal, providing free and immediate access to its published content. Authors retain copyright of their work and may self-archive the final accepted version of their manuscripts in appropriate institutional or subject-based repositories in accordance with the journal's self-archiving policy.

The journal publishes approximately 20 scholarly articles per year, subject to the quality and suitability of submitted manuscripts.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format and prepared according to the following requirements:

• Font: Times New Roman, 12-point
• Page format: A4
• Margins: 2 cm on all sides
• Line spacing: 1.5 lines
• Maximum length: 30,000 characters, excluding spaces, including the abstract, tables, figures, and references
• Referencing style: APA 7th edition

Authors are strongly encouraged to consult the Author Guidelines before submitting their manuscripts and to ensure that their submissions comply with all formatting, ethical, and editorial requirements.
